Using our tree fruits and berries identification guide

When trying to identify a tree by its fruits or berries, the things to look for, are:

  • The size of the fruit
  • Its colour (ripe and unripe)
  • How it hangs (upright or dangly)
  • Whether it is sociable (in clusters or individually)
  • If it is growing on a stem or straight off the branch
  • Its stone or seed
