Autumn leaves nature walk scavenger hunt

Have you ever wandered through a forest in the gathering dusk of late autumn or early winter, scanning the forest floor for pine cones ready for making wreathes and decorations? Have you ever stopped to wonder if that pine cone is actually a pine cone? Well, now, with this handy spotter, you can find out what it really is. The eight trees featured in this spotter, are:

  • Cypress
  • Douglas fir
  • Japanese larch
  • Norway spruce
  • Red cedar
  • Scots pine
  • Silver fir
  • Western hemlock
This scavenger hunt can be used in printed form, to take out with you as a handy and easily portable field guide, or it can be downloaded and used as a digital resource.
